State Announces Funding for Elevating Erie

On Thursday December 8th, New York State announced more than $700 million in funding through the sixth round of the Regional Economic Development Council initiative. The announcement included over $300k for Elevating Erie through a combination of awards from the New York State Department of State Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP) and the New York State Council on the Arts.

Funding will be utilized to develop a detailed plan for the redevelopment of the Towpath Road corridor in DeWitt including a remnant of the historical Erie Canal; as well as to conduct an oral history project working with the folks from the award winning CityLore group based in New York City in a partnership between Camillus and DeWitt.
