Why We're Protesting Pi Day

UPDATE 3/14: EVENT POSTPONED due to weather. Further updates will be posted, stay tuned!

March 14th, affectionately known as Pi Day, is drawing near! Usually this is a date we welcome with open arms and open mouths (if you need an excuse to eat Pie, but who are we kidding). This year, THIS WEDNESDAY, we will be attending the New York State Department of Transportation’s Open House on the Empire State Trail, where the draft plans for the Erie Boulevard corridor will be available for public input.

Because this event will be held to celebrate, inform and anticipate the completion of New York State’s most infamously segmented line, we’re taking some creative liberties by embracing this event as a protest of Pi Day. Please join us at the Erie Canal Museum in Downtown Syracuse between 5-7pm to learn about the State’s plan to close the gap in the Erie Canal Trail and see how our Elevating Erie Concept Plan dovetails into this project.

We hope to meet you there!

*This is not an actual protest of Pi Day. We could never do that.

** Regretfully, no pie will be served at this event.
